Hi everyone!
I am so excited to be posting as a new design team member for Scrapbook Stamp Society.
As most of you already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Unfortunately, this disease has touched us all in one way or another.
The project I made today is for all of you fighting this fight...weather you are fighting yourself or fighting right along side with someone you love.
I used img941 Dee Dee Dimples. I love this image! She is adorable.
I colored Dee Dee with Copic Markers. I was able to document and keep my colors organized for easy posting because of this awesome My Besties coloring chart.
The coloring chart is a FREEBIE from Sherri.
Here's an empty one for you to use...
Sherri has several beautiful images of hope for you to use on your awareness projects.
Many of these images can be used for awareness for cancers other than breast cancer.
Early detection of breast cancer is key in saving lives.
Here is the instructions on how to do a Breast Self Exam.
We are encouraged to do these exams monthly.
Fighting cancer is a cause I hold very close to my heart, as I have an Aunt who is fighting breast cancer and my family has lost many other loved ones to different kinds of this awful disease. I chose to honor my loved ones by becoming a Chemo Card Angel. Chemo Angels is an incredible program. You fill out an application and they pair you with someone that has similar interests as you. Then you send cards and small gifts to lift the spirits of your Chemo Buddy who is currently going through chemo. There are different types of Angels. Chemo Angels, Card Angels, and Prayer Angels. They even have Senior Angels. I currently have one Chemo Buddy through Chemo Angels. My sister and I also "Angel" our Aunt. If you know anyone who is going through chemo or will be going through chemo, please share Chemo Angels with them. See if they would like to sign up to be a Chemo Buddy. There is an application on the Chemo Angels site.
Thank you for stopping by Scrapbook Stamp Society today. I hope you have been inspired to create an awareness project of your own. We have a My Besties Breast Cancer Awareness challenge going on in the My Besties Card Swap Facebook Group. If you would like to join the challenge or card swapping please request to be added to our fun group.
Hugs,
Tina Goodwin DT
