Lovely Christmas Wreath

Hi, Scrapbook Stamp Society Friends!
Donna here with an elegant card share.

I couldn't resist this little taste of elegance.

Having fallen deeply in love with this wonderfully detailed Christmas Wreath image by Kim Gwin, I was delighted when sweet DTC Sher sent it to me.

It was remarkably easy to color because the image reveals the places to lighten and darken.

If you enjoy "Pretty", but prefer something easy to color, then this beautiful wreath would make a lovely addition to your digi Christmas items.  It's perfect for vintage or contemporary paper crafting, and it can be cut apart to use pieces of it, too.

I decided to try a Twisted Easel style card, and though Christian Griffiths' video tutorial was very simple, and contained wonderful tips about placement of images both top and bottom, I had trouble with the placement of the sentiment on the bottom portion of the card, so if you try this fold, you might want to use longer, thinner sentiments, or something extremely small, rather than a squarish size sentiment.

When closed, this is what the top looks like:

Except for the printed paper, all of the green is vellum.

The bottom looks like this when closed:

A computer-generated sentiment with a variety of fonts was fun to create.

Here is a close up of the bottom when opened:

Hope you enjoy this beautiful wreath as much as I have!

Sweet hugs for you always,

Cat with Pumpkin

Hello everyone.  Here's a wonderful new image from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Kim Pipkin Gwin.  This image just gorgeous and perfect for Halloween.  The challenge over on the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog (SSS Challenge) is to use lots of layers.  So, as you can see, I have done several layers on my image, my sentiment and the background with wonderful fall theme colors.  This great image is called Cat with Pumpkin..
Drop by the SSS Challenge Blog and share your card this week. It doesn't have to be Halloween related, it just needs to have lots of fun layers in it!

Leopard

Hello my blogging peeps!! ;) lol Here I am with my latest design for Scrapbook Stamp Society. Does it make you think of the jungle... the mighty jungle... I know it's not a sleeping lion but that's the song that comes to mind when I see this Leopard image by Kim L. Pipkin Gwin. I think he makes for a great masculine card.

These are the Copic markers I used to color the image:

Browns: E11, E13, E15, E18, E31, E33, E35
Yellow: Y19, YR23

This is the card:

Isn't he majestic? What other word could possibly accurately describe him?!? :) I think he looks ready to leap off the card! Yikes! lol ;)

This is how I put him together:

The background paper is from the Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby. The ribbon, card stock and button are from my stash. I used a Spellbinders' Lacey Square die cut to create a mat for the image. Do you think the button was too much? I couldn't make myself keep from using it... I told myself don't do it... I don't listen to myself very well. I like how it looks. :)
And with that, I will leave you with this final thought...

Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh
Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh
Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh

I shouldn't be the only one with that song stuck in my head after all this!! ;)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over to the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog for some fun! :) There's still plenty of time to play with FOUR month-long challenges ending on January 30th. There's a clear stamp by Sherri Baldy to be won!

There's also a new weekly Besties Challenge! You should go check that challenge out too! Sherri Baldy is generously offering a freebie as well! You can find more cute Besties images here.

One Tired Santa

I just love this digi by artist Kim Gwin, and can be found here.  When I first saw this graphic, I thought of a very tired Santa who had just completed his magical night of delivering toys to the good little boys and girls.

I colored this digi with Crayola Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol.  I then inked the edges of the colored digi with black.  I was hoping to achive the look of the items being  covered with soot from Santa going down millions of chimney's on Christmas Eve.

Kim is a great artist, check out her work on the Scrapbook Stamp Society site here.
