Wooden Blocks

Hello Friends!

Hope you are in enjoying your day!!!!!

Vicki here with you today sharing
a special project I have made out
of a 2 x 3.25 inch piece of wood which my wonderful
hubby cut into blocks for me.

For my project I have used

 one of the

My Besties Designer Paper Packs

To start off I have used four 2 x 3.25 x 4 inch blocks.
I have painted each block with Black paint.

After the paint was dry I cut and glued
four different sheets of paper
from the paper pack to each block.

After giving the glue time to dry I put two coats
of Mod Podge Decoupage Glossy Finish on
each block.

Once the mod podge is dry it's time to
decorate each block.

I used many different types of embellishments
that I have in my stash such as
wooden words, flowers, greenery cut from card stock,
wood buttons with bakers twine and other
fun things I could find.
To add the embellishments to each block
I have found that glue dots work the best.

For the base for my blocks to sit on I used a
2 x 13 inch block which I also painted black.

You can find these and other paper packs

I hope I have showed you another way to use
My Besties in your crafting.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Hugs,

Vicki, DT

Wishing You Well

I always love working with Sherri Baldy My Bestie images.  Aren't they just the greatest.   Today I share a card with you I made for a friend's mother who had a recent accident.  I hope she likes it as much as I liked creating it.

I colored the image using Photoshop and just used paper from my stash to complete the card.  The white paper is embossed with dark blue inked edges.  The blue and white paper used is actually one small corner of a 12 x 12 sheet.  I love double sided paper.

I debated for a long time whether or not I wanted to add flowers.  When mailing, I generally keep them plain and simple. However, this time, I wanted something a little fancier. So, I added flowers to match the flower she was sitting on and the paper.

I do hope she likes it!

I also used the super cute bear svg cutting file from Marjorie Ann Designs, original art by Kristi W. Designs.
I uploaded the file in Cricut Design Space and used it to make a pattern for my fuzzy little Cupid tear bear. I also cut my box frame using the cartridge Boxes, Tags and More 2. I cut out a few strips of paper for the background.

I used copic markers to color my Besties Doll.

Dress Blue & Bow: B00, B02, B05

I also used a white Gelly roll, black Copic multiliner and chalk to add definition.

I embellished with a bow and heart gems.

Garden Child

Good Morning,

Today is my day to share and I am so excited to share this beautiful digi with you. I am just in love with all of the fun Besties that Sherri creates.  I just wish I had more time on my hands to sit and color all of them.  It is so hard to pick and chose when I am ready to make a card.  I know you will find many you will also fall in love with when you visit the store.

I am sharing with you a fast and simple birthday card I made.  With the rising cost of postage, I am finding it easier to keep my cards simple and flat.   This adorable Garden Child digi can be found here.

I colored this beauty using my Prisma Colored Pencils and embellished her with golden pearls.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the fun shapes.

I think she would be pretty with some fun purple and lavender flowers around the outside of the frame, yet, for the sake of mailing, I refrained.   Off to the mailbox this Garden Child goes to brighten someone's birthday.

Happy Valentines Day

Today I have a two for one posting to share with you.  I just love it when I can take multiple products and use on one project.  The main products on this posting are from Pinque Peacock and Scrapbook Stamp Society.

Today I have a great little card to share with you.  This beautiful little lady is a Sherri Baldy Stamps My Bestie.  I just love the big eyed beauties. There are so many wonderful things you can do with them.

I decided to try my hand at something a little different this go around.  This time instead of making just a card, I wanted to make a step card.  *sigh, what was I thinking*!!!!  Thankfully after a little bit of searching, I found a nice card on the Silhouette Online site and the hard part was done. I did not have to do the measurements.

I love using my Silhouette and try to use it as often as I can for my craft projects.  So this time around, I tried something really different.  I took my digi and imported her into my software then did a trace.  However, because of the little hairs and other tiny lines, she did not cut out as neatly as I would desire.  So, instead of trying to cut her that way, I did a very small offset on her and it worked beautifully.  I then did an offset of the offset (yes, I realize that does not sound quite right) so that I could have a shadow for the adorable little girl.

I embellished my card with paper piecings from Miss Kates Cuttables, the Silhouette Store, and some stamped images.  However, I felt she still needed something more, so I turned to my trusty stash of fabulous Pinque Peacock pretties to see what I have that night match.  The beautiful pink popper was perfect for this little lady.  A perfect addition, doesn't it look like a tiny carnation?  I then added one of the wonderful pearl stick pins as well.  I think the combination set the card perfectly, what do you think?

Thank you for taking the time to stop in and visit my blog.  I always love to read your comments.
